Chile’s Student Uprising (2014) Dir. Roberto Navarrete 35min; Digital In English and Spanish with English subtitles

During the nation’s mass student protests between 2011 and 2013, director Roberto Navarrete traveled to Chile to speak to student leaders like Camila Vallejo and Giorgio Jackson (both later key figures in the Gabriel Boric government) about their demands for a state-funded education system and other radical social changes. In a series of interviews, Chile’s Student Uprising unpacks why these protests had such an effect in Chile and inspired others in the country and beyond.
